Award winning Chicago based rock band SEA OF MONSTERS features Lead Vocalist Timothy Barrett-Ford with John DiNunzio (guitars & vocals), Jon Pomplin (bass guitars, keyboards & backing vocals) and Tara Rich (drums & percussion). They released their debut CD/EP in December of 1998 which was engineered and co-produced by Chicago icon Phil Bonnet,. The release led to a summer tour, including appearances on "The Fox Diner" stage at “Taste of Chicago” for Fox TV (WFLD-32) and several other local radio and TV outlets. Following the tour, Sea of Monsters were signed to a record contract with an Illinois record label/studio and began work on the follow up full length record. Unfortunately, though several tracks were finished or nearly done, the record was shelved in 2001 and the group disbanded due to contractual disagreements with the label. The members went their separate ways forming other successful music projects but didn't re-connect again for almost 2 decades.
Thanks to the proliferation of social media, several members were able to connect online. In the spring of 2020, Declassified Records re-issued 4 singles from the original CD/EP to digital/streaming format. The original mixes from Phil Bonnet were remastered by Grammy winner Neil Citron from Chicago icon Phil Bonnet's original 2 track Master mix on DAT.
After an exhaustive search, the members were able to track down the original master 24 track tapes from the 1999-2001 studio recording sessions. The reels were restored, and the tracks converted to hi-resolution digital format by the team at Sonicraft A2DX in New Jersey. After completing the unfinished songs, the album, entitled "Hello Again", was mixed and mastered by Neil Citron at Hidden Fortress Studios in Las Vegas. The first single "Sunday Man" was released on 11/17/2022 with the album scheduled for December 7.
